Maulana Hassan completed his Hawza education before going on to earn a Master's degree in Arabic Language and Linguistics and then a PhD in Islamic Education — making him uniquely qualified to approach Quranic teaching from both a traditional Islamic and a modern pedagogical perspective. His doctoral research focused specifically on the challenges faced by non-Arabic speakers learning Quranic Arabic, and the insights from that research permeate everything he does in the classroom.
His primary subject is Arabic Language — specifically Quranic Arabic and Modern Standard Arabic for Muslim students who wish to understand the Quran as it was revealed, not just recite it phonetically.
